Jerseylicious

It all started on a reality show…

Cue the first season of MTV's The Jersey Shore. The Situation couldn't stop showing his abs, Snookie had coined the term "guidette" & everyone was fist pumping.

After college, I moved to New York City to work in television. In my first 4 years, I earned a Producer title at the infamous, Maury Povich Show. While in between seasons, I needed a job and I was asked by a friend if I wanted to interview for a reality show in New Jersey. It wasn’t until later I found out it was also an audition. They were looking to hire an event planner to coordinate their season-ending episode on-camera. I was offered the gig & went straight downtown to buy some Jerseylicious wardrobe options.

I was confident and eager to start preparing the venue, however I wasn’t expecting the roles to reverse when I became the one being produced…in New Jersey dramatic fashion no less. I soon found my patience conveniently tested at all the right moments, as cameras and producers hoped to capture any sort of emotional outcry or dramatic outburst. Little did they know, I began my young career with lie detectors and paternity tests.

I was hired to plan and execute a great party, but I also knew I had to play a part. After a much anticipated and encouraged door slam and a handful of sinister side-eyed glares, I received my first and last acting credit to date.

Overall this experience opened a door for me, reality or not. The party was a success, I created new relationships and gained even more admiration for the people that put it all together.

It still surprises me what led me in the direction to where I am today. One thing I know for sure is leopard print is here to stay and I guess the rest is history…

…with a few fist pumps along the way.
